Presented in partnership with Jupiter Magazine, this special presentation celebrates the pioneering cinematic work of Burkinabè filmmaker Fanta Régina Nacro. The program opens with a 15-minute illustrated lecture by Afi Venessa Appiah, an NYU Cinema Studies scholar and creator of Emblematic Elusions, a publication series exploring eroticism, gender, and subversive visual culture in African cinema. The lecture is followed by screenings of three landmark films by Nacro: PUK NINI (1996), LE TRUC DE KONATÉ (1998), and BINTOU (2001), offering audiences an introduction to one of African cinema's most significant filmmakers.
